Medical marijuana patients go to Lansing

By Laura Weber, Michigan Public Radio Network

East Lansing, MI – East Lansing, MI (MPRN) - Members of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Association gathered in Lansing Monday to register for ID cards.

It was the first day of registration under the new law.

About fifty patients showed up at the Gone Wired Caf to travel downtown together.

Brad Forrester is a coordinator for the group.

He says everyone who signed up today needs medical marijuana to treat their pain.

Michigan is the thirteenth state to legalize medical marijuana.
