Fest with Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson opens Thursday

GRANT TOWNSHIP, MI – Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and the surviving Grateful Dead are headlining this year's Rothbury Festival now under way in rural western Michigan.

State police tell The Grand Rapids Press incoming traffic was moving smoothly. The festival site is near the village of Rothbury in Oceana County's Grant Township, about 45 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.

Area residents are taking advantage of the traffic to sell everything from Rothbury T-shirts to yoga pants to the tens of thousands of concertgoers.

The 70-plus rock, folk, hip-hop, reggae and other acts are performing on five stages during the festival that ends Sunday. It also offers camping, art installations and activities focused on the environment and sustainability.
