MI Senate delivers remaining budgets to Gov

By Laura Weber, Michigan Public Radio Network

LANSING, MI – The Repubican-controlled state Senate has released the remaining six budgets to Governor Granholm. Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop met privately with Granholm last week and agreed to hand over the budgets, which deal with money for corrections, local government revenue sharing and Medicaid. The state is operating under a temporary budget which expires at the end of the month. Granholm will speak on these budgets, as well as her line-item vetoes to the K-12 schools budget this afternoon.
