Hoekstra sidesteps question about fund-raising

By AP

UNDATED – Michigan Republican Rep. Pete Hoekstra sidestepped questions about a fund-raising letter that criticized President Barack Obama's handling of an alleged attempt to blow up a U.S. airliner over Detroit on Christmas Day.

Anchor Terry Moran asked Hoekstra repeatedly about the ethics of trying to raise money for his gubernatorial campaign by capitalizing on an alleged terrorist attack on ABC News' "This Week" Sunday.

Hoekstra didn't directly answer the question. He says he's proud of his record on national security and he has concerns about the administration's handling of national security issues.

Hoekstra is the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee and is seeking his party's nomination for governor.
