By Scott Pohl, WKAR

EAST LANSING, MI –

Muelder arrived at MSU in 1935, and his resume' includes time as dean of science and arts and the graduate school. He also headed the MSU Foundation.

Muelder is credited with an instrumental role in the university's move into nuclear physics research in the 1950s. He helped establish MSU's first office of international programs.
