Dillon to air 2nd ad in Michigan governor's race

By AP

LANSING, MI – Democrat Andy Dillon will begin airing his second ad in the Michigan governor's race on the same day he and opponent Virg Bernero have their second debate.

The 30-second ad shown Sunday to The Associated Press features Dillon saying Michigan needs a governor who can "reach across the aisle" and residents must "row together" to fix the state's problems.

Dillon's campaign says it will start airing Monday and run for at least two weeks on broadcast and cable stations statewide.

The campaign says Michigan companies shot the ad in Michigan, although a Chicago agency produced it.

Bernero has not yet run TV ads. The Lansing mayor says Dillon has done little as House speaker to stem job losses.

The pair debate Monday night on Detroit Public Television.
