Bernero picks up more labor endorsements in Mich.

LANSING, MI – 2010 - WKAR" class="rwmtitlegfx">

The Michigan Laborers' District Council and two United Food and Commercial Workers locals have endorsed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero.

The Laborers' union represents 12,000 active and retired construction workers while the UFCW locals represent 68,000 workers.

The Lansing mayor also grabbed a number of other union endorsements, including ones from the Michigan Education Association and the unions covered by the Michigan AFL-CIO.

The other Democrat in the race, House Speaker Andy Dillon, was endorsed earlier by the Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council, which represents nearly 100,000 workers statewide, and the Teamsters.

On Wednesday, Dillon was endorsed by the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union.WKAR
