Michigan residents are getting new chances to meet the candidates who want their votes.

Those running for governor, lieutenant governor and offices further down the ticket hit the road Monday for campaign stops. Republicans and Democrats settled on their general election slates during weekend conventions.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero and running mate Brenda Lawrence were talking to small business owners in Flint and Bay City Monday.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Snyder and running mate Brian Calley planned to discuss their economic plan in west Michigan with stops in Traverse City, Frankfort, Manistee, Muskegon and Holland.
