Michigan St. happy to play 'road' game in Detroit

By AP

EAST LANSING, MI – Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio is preparing for a rare, in-state road game with Florida Atlantic Saturday afternoon, a sandwich game between an opening win over
Western Michigan and a prime-time visit from Notre Dame.

Dantonio says it's good when the Spartans can drive 80 miles to Detroit's Ford Field instead of flying 1,500 miles each way.

It's also a plus that friends, family and fans can see the relocated game in a building where several players have competed for state titles.

Freshman LeVeon Bell, who set records for a Michigan State debut with 141 rushing yards in the 38-14 win over the Broncos, is listed on the depth chart as sharing the first-team running back spot with sophomores Edwin Baker and Larry Caper.
