DSO cancels East Lansing concert

By Scott Pohl, WKAR News

DETROIT, MI –

With musicians on strike, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert at Michigan State University's Wharton Center with violinist Sarah Chang has been cancelled.

The DSO has also cancelled similar concerts planned for Friday through Sunday at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit.

Officials say an attempt has been made to reschedule the East Lansing concert this year, but no suitable date could be found.

The 85-member orchestra is on strike after failing to reach a settlement on a new contract with the DSO.
