SOS race winner Ruth Johnson names transition team

By AP

CLARKSTON, MI –
Incoming Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson has named her transition team.

Members include former Speaker of the House Rick Johnson and former deputy state budget director Patrick Anderson.

Ruth Johnson made the announcement Friday.

The Republican Oakland County clerk defeated Democratic candidate Jocelyn Benson in the Nov. 2 election.

Johnson also has formed a transition advisory council, which she says will oversee the formation of several advisory committees to begin work on her goals of streamlining secretary of state operations.

The 55-year-old Johnson of Groveland Township has been Oakland County's clerk for six years.

She's scheduled to take office on Jan. 1.
