Authorities say two people have died in a head-on collision in Michigan's northeastern Lower Peninsula.

Michigan State Police say a car and truck collided about noon Friday on U.S. 23 in Iosco County's Alabaster Township, near the Lake Huron shore. Officials haven't released details about what led to the crash or the identities of those who died.

The highway in the area of the crash has been closed during the investigation.
