After months of construction, residents are beginning to occupy the tall apartment buildings that have changed the skyline of East Lansing.  We recently toured of one of the complexes.

The new 12-story Landmark on Grand River sits across the street from Michigan State University in the 300 block of East Grand River Avenue. The entrance and a Target store are on the first floor.

The second floor includes common areas including a 24-hour gym, library and rooftop deck.

The units on the highest floors feature floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook campus.

Steve Willobee is Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Relations of Harbor Bay Real Estate Advisors which developed the Landmark on Grand River. He explained which MSU landmarks that residents will see from the top floors.

“If you go up to our 12th floor, 11th floor, 10th floor and so on, you’ll be able to get the full beauty of Spartan Stadium. You’ll be able to see the time on Beaumont Tower," said Willobee.

The Landmark On Grand River isn’t the only new high-rise apartment complex in East Lansing.

The 10-story Hub On Campus has also started move-ins. It sits at Grand River Avenue and Bogue Street.

The Abbot, which will be 12-stories, is scheduled to open in fall of 2020. It is under construction at the corner of Grand River Avenue and Abbot Road.

These high rise apartments come at a high cost. The monthly rent for a 350-square-foot "micro-studio" apartment at the Landmark on Grand River is $1,050 a month.

The rent for a 306-square-foot studio apartment at The Hub On Campus is $1120 a month.

The Abbot told WKAR that a studio apartment will cost $1220 a month.

These prices do not include the security deposit, utilities and fees for parking or pets.

The Landmark on Grand River and The Hub On Campus said they are currently about 90 percent leased.
