A long abandoned Dimondale storefront has been transformed into a workout space for boxers.

Now, it’s time for another audio snapshot in our Hear, Here project. It comes to us from a long-empty storefront in Dimondale that has been transformed into a boxing gym. Current State producer ScottPohl recorded the sound of some boxers practicing "the sweet science" at Hoose's Gym.

You can submit your own audio snapshots to Hear, Here to help us map what our community sounds like!

Just use the voice memo app on your smartphone to record about a minute of sound. Once you’re happy with your audio, you can email the file, along with your name, a description of the sound, and the approximate location where you recorded it to currentstate@wkar.org.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
