All this week, adoption fees will be discounted to $20 for kittens 6 months and younger, and $10 for cats over 6 months.

John Dinon is the Director of Ingham County Animal Control.

"We've been fortunate that we have not had to euthanize any cats, or dogs for that matter, due to space for over six years. So what we do is, we do promotions like were doing now and do everything we can to find homes for them" says Dinon.

Dinon says the shelter sees a large number of cats surrendered annually in the Spring and Summer due to the breeding season. A special adoption event will be held this weekend at Lansing’s Frandor Shopping center to help boost adoption numbers.
