Spartan Motors Opens New Plant To Build Isuzu Trucks

Spartan Motors in Charlotte, Michigan, has opened a new 85,000 square foot assembly building to manufacture Isuzu trucks.

Spartan Motors has worked with Isuzu since 2011, building the Japanese commercial vehicle company’s N-Series line of trucks.

Isuzu originally had a contract with General Motors to produce the larger FTR medium-duty series of trucks, but that operation has since moved to Spartan Motors.

Steve Guillaume, President of Specialty Vehicles at Spartan Motors, says the expansion will create 100 new jobs when the plant reaches full production this summer.
