Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has signed onto a nationwide lawsuit that seeks to stop the merger of telecom giants Sprint and T-Mobile. We have more from Capital Bureau Chief Rick Pluta.
The main lawsuit was filed in New York, but it’s been joined by at least 10 other state attorneys general.
Kelly Rossman-McKinney is Nessel’s communications director. She says the merger would affect wireless users across the country.
“And, in particular, Michigan, which is the eighth largest cell phone market in the country. "
Rossman-McKinney says farms would be among those most affected because modern agriculture relies heavily on wireless service to make decisions on where to plant, watering and how to handle weather.
Democrats in Michigan’s congressional delegation have also asked the federal government to say “no” to the merger.
