This eight-part British drama follows Jenny Lee, a young woman from the wealthy English countryside who is thrust into the slums of London’s East End as a midwife. Set in the years after World War II, “Call the Midwife” attracted an audience even larger than that of “Downton Abbey” when it first premiered in the UK.

On TV | Following the Evening at WKAR’s Call the Midwife screening, the program will premiere on Sunday, September 30, on WKAR-TV and be repeated the following Fridays at 10 p.m.
