FREE – Thursday, April 20, at 7 p.m. | Preview the film and join the conversation on how three courageous whistleblowers break the silence around the secret U.S. drone war. RESERVE SEATS HERE

Indie Lens Pop-Up, presented by the Independent Television Service (ITVS), Independent Lens, and WKAR is excited to offer an advance screening of National Bird, a film by Sonia Kennebeck. Exploring the complexities of drone warfare from a human perspective, the film gives rare insight into the American military drone program through the eyes of veterans and survivors.

The evening begins with a full screening of the film and continues with conversation as panelists comment on the film from personal experiences and expertise.

WKAR Indie Lens Pop-Up takes place in the Communication Arts & Sciences Media Auditorium (Room 145), 404 Wilson Road on the campus of Michigan State University. Parking is free (after 6 p.m.) in the Trowbridge Road parking ramp, near the South, Main Lobby.

More About 'National Bird"
National Bird weaves together the stories of two groups separated by thousands of miles: those involved in drone warfare, and survivors and family members of those impacted by lethal drones. The film’s haunting images bring a faraway issue close to home.

National Bird airs  Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10 p.m. on WKAR and PBS.
