Hear it on Morning Edition
Thursdays, June 6-27

Native Michigander Jemele Hill has gone a long way from studying at Michigan State University to being in the national spotlight for her stories and opinions. For years she had a stalwart presence on ESPN. She gained a whole new group of fans and foes when she tweeted that President Donald Trump was a racist. In a series of stories and conversations with Current Sports anchor Al Martin, Hill talks about everything from the Trump tweet to losing friendships over the criticism of MSU sports. She also addresses perceptions of women athletes, controversy over political activism among athletes, the death of Nipsey Hussle, and much more.

A four-part series from WKAR's Current Sports.
