WKAR is seeking a highly motivated and outgoing individual to serve as Event/Promotion Coordinator. Responsibilities include coordinating all promotional activities and live-events for both television and radio. This includes in-studio and on-location events, outreach positioning, ‘sizzle reels’, special programming content and facilitation of the overall promotion of the stations. This person will coordinate with external venues and event coordinators, schedule volunteers, as well as train student staff for ‘Street Teams’ or other special event situations. The successful candidate must be willing to work nights and/or weekends as events occur; some travel will be required.

WKAR is a division of the College of Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University. It includes WKAR-TV, WKAR AM and FM, WKAR.org, the Radio Reading Service, and WKAR Ready-To-Learn, and reaches more than a half-million mid-Michigan residents each week, and contributes to the educational experience of Michigan State University's 47,000-plus student body.
