WKAR, a national ratings leader within Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences, seeks a Marketing and Sales Assistant who has passion for public media, community, and sales to join its team. As Marketing and Sales Assistant, you will provide assistance in administrative and corporate development activities that support the station’s sales and marketing goals for TV and Radio underwriting and sponsorships. The ideal candidate is able to follow internal processes and guidelines; is able to work in a fast-paced environment; and demonstrates clear and concise writing skills with the ability to communication effectively to a variety of audiences.

This position requires knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school such as an Associate’s Degree in Business with coursework appropriate to the employing unit. Six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in sales and marketing strategies related to the employing unit; booking meetings, events and/or similar unit functions; and department operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
