An overnight homeless shelter in Traverse City is closing for the season after extending services during the cold early spring.
Safe Harbor board chairman Mike McDonald says it's always risky to sleep outdoors but overnight temperatures are no longer dangerous.
He tells the Traverse City Record-Eagle that it might have been the first time that the shelter remained open in mid-April.
The shelter began reducing food, laundry and shower services Monday.
Thursday was the last day for overnight stays.
A homeless man, George Golubovskis, says he's still concerned about cold weather. He's not sure where he'll stay.
The shelter will reopen in November.
