Nakia White Barr has been named acting secretary of the MSU Board of Trustees.According to a press release, Barr has worked in the MSU Office of General Counsel since 2014 and is also an adjunct professor teaching contract drafting in the MSU College of Law. Before that, she did real estate legal work in places like Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
She’s a graduate of the University of Maryland and Harvard Law.
Interim President John Engler says Barr’s appointment will be finalized at a board meeting on August 31st.
Barr replaces Bill Beekman as secretary to the board. Beekman was named Athletics Director at MSU on July 16th.
