Sub-Freezing Temps, Snow Returning To Mid-Michigan

Michigan has seen temperatures in the 70s and even the 80s this spring, but cold and even snow are in the forecast this week.

Nathan Jeruzal is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids. He says that overnight Tuesday there could be an inch or more of snow in the Lansing area, and up to four inches south of Ann Arbor. “We’re still kind of watching that," Jeruzal says, "but the data that we look has been kind of honing in as a consensus that there will be a little bit of accumulating snow the further southeast you go in the state.”

Jeruzal also thinks that could produce a snowy commute on Wednesday morning, especially south of Lansing. “Any wet roads could possibly freeze up," he concludes, "so people that have to drive on Wednesday morning may want to keep an eye on the forecast, and maybe plan to leave just a little bit earlier to give themselves a little more time to drive.”

Overnight lows will be in the mid 20s Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
