Linda Kernohan

90.5 Classical Host

Linda Kernohan is a host and producer of 90.5 Classical on WKAR.

She is also a composer, pianist, and writer. Her music has been performed across the U.S. and in Germany, the Czech Republic, and China. Recent works include The Fire Remains, written for the Ohio State University Orchestra while she was its composer-in-residence and Sandy Songs, a song cycle in collaboration with Daniel Neer, lyricist and baritone. As a writer, she has contributed to NewMusicBox, Burgh Vivant, Pittsburgh’s cultural talk magazine, and the WOSU Classical 101 blog. She was the classical blogger for the Grammy Awards for five years.

Linda Joined WKAR in December 2022. Prior to coming to WKAR, she was on the music faculty at Otterbein University in Ohio.

Linda Kernohan holds a B.A. in music from U.C. Berkeley, an M.A. in music composition from New York University, and a D.M.A. in music composition from The Ohio State University.
