Michael Stratton has been a lifelong lover of music. He discovered jazz in his teens and has been a devotee of the music and its history ever since. He also loves The Beatles, the blues, Bach and Shostakovich. His tastes are wide and eclectic and his show, A Groove Supreme, reflects that wide range of interest.
A founding member of the Jazz Alliance of Mid-Michigan (JAMM), he has emceed numerous jazz festivals in Michigan. He's thrilled to be a part of the WKAR family and join a lineage of DJs he's admired for years: Doug Collar and Dan Bayer.
Besides music, Michael loves being with family and friends, watching movies or sports, traveling, reading and going on long walks.
Michael Stratton achieved his BA in psychology from Aquinas College and his MSW from Michigan State University. He’s been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 1987. Michael has written two books: Everybody Dreams, a novel set in the Greater Lansing area; and The Little Green Book: A Guide to Breaking Up with Marijuana.
