State listens to concerns of hearing impaired

Last week, new regulations took effect governing how sign language interpreters are used is places like courtrooms and hospitals in Michigan.The changes will affect not only Michigan’s deaf and hard of hearing population, but interpreters as well.

Current State speaks with Leslee Fritz, deputy director of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, about the new rules. 

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
