Incoming MI Senate leader downplays electoral reform, religious freedom measure

The Michigan legislative session beginning in January will include new leadership in the Senate and the House for both parties. Republican Arlan Meekhof will succeed Randy Richardville as Michigan’s Senate Majority Leader.The Ottawa County resident begins his second term in the Senate in January. He’s also served two terms in the House.

Current State talks with Senator Arlan Meekhof about a brief lame duck session, set to begin in less than two weeks. There is no shortage of contested issues on the table:  road funding, expanding the state’s Elliot Larsen law and electoral college reform among others.
