Made in the USA | Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra LIVE

Woman holding violin close
Lisa-Marie Mazzucco

Sat. Oct. 11 - 8pm 90.5 FM | Live from the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor, this concert reflects the many facets of what makes American music American.

WKAR's Mark Bashore hosts this special live broadcast on 90.5 FM.

The genius of American composition is celebrated in this concert – from Bernstein’s affirmative Chichester Psalms to a trip across our great USA with Michael Daugherty, to the accessibly jazzy American in Paris. Joan Kwuon, whom the NY Times describes as "fiery, intensely musical and impassioned," made her Tanglewood debut at the invitation of André Previn in 2000, and her recital debut at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall the following season.  Her virtuosity and radiant stage presence have been seen and heard on The Today Show, CBS News and National Public Radio.

Special Guests
Joan Kwuon
Boychoir of Ann Arbor
Vocal Arts Ensemble prepared by Ben Cohen
Chorus prepared by Steven Lorenz

Program includes
Bernstein - Chichester Psalms
Barber - Violin Concerto, Op. 14
Daugherty - Route 66
