Rising spring temperatures produce Great Lakes mirages

Courtesy Spencer Hughes Photography

Picture this: you’re walking along the shores of Lake Michigan on a warm spring day. The lake breeze is blowing and the waves are lapping at your feet when all of the sudden you see something strange out on the water. Like, say, the Chicago skyline. You might be wondering if you somehow bumped your head or had one too many drinks. But Mark Torregrossa, chief meteorologist for MLive, says you don’t need to check yourself into the hospital just yet.

Current State speaks with Torregrossa about the weird weather phenomena of Great Lakes mirages.
