A Kickstarter campaign raised funding for the Incredible Science Machine project.

This weekend at the Michigan Science Center, Michigan State University senior Steve Price and 15 teammates will attempt to break the record for the world’s largest Rube Goldberg machine. Current State talks to Price about his passion for building and what he's got planned for his biggest project yet.

What happens when you give a zany cartoonist an engineering degree? You end up with Rube Goldberg. His popular comic strips often featured very complicated machines performing simple tasks like opening an umbrella or putting a stamp on an envelope. MSU senior Steve Price is taking the iconic cartoonist’s idea to the next level.

This weekend, he and a team of 15 other builders from around the world will attempt to create the world’s largest Rube Goldberg machine at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit.

Current State talks with Price about the contraption he’ll be revealing on Saturday.
