Demetric Vance appears in court with his attorney Mary Chartier on Tuesday.

One of three former Michigan State University football players accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a January party was arraigned in East Lansing on Tuesday.

Wearing a black shirt and blue tie, Demetric Vance appeared in 54B District Court in East Lansing early this afternoon.

He’s been charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct, and faces up to 15 years in prison. His attorney, Mary Chartier, said the charges against Vance are misled.

“I think what you would find unilaterally is that Mr. Vance is an outstanding young man and he’s a man that would make any parent proud,” said Chartier.

“He is going to fight this out in a courtroom and he believes and I believe that he will be exonerated in the end.”

Vance left court with his attorney after posting the $10,000 bond.
