U-Club Big Bang-quet Challenge Continues through March 16

WKAR was selected by members of the University Club of MSU to compete in their "Big Bang-Quet" $10,000 Community Charity Challenge. WKAR is one of 26 mid-Michigan organizations asking the public for their votes to help us win a $10,000 credit towards a fundraising event held in the University Club's newly renovated dining room.

The program is conducted by the University Club of MSU in conjunction with the Capital region Community Foundation (CRCF) and sponsored by the MSU Federal Credit Union.

A "vote" is a $5 tax-deductible donation to the Capital Region Community Foundation. Votes can be cast online through Friday, March 16, HERE.

WKAR will receive 90 percent of the funds raised from votes for WKAR, with the remaining amount retained by the Capital Region Community Foundation to cover processing fees.

Every WKAR News story you read is rooted in fact-based, local journalism, produced without commercial influence and available for free to everyone in mid-Michigan. No paywalls. Ever.

But this work doesn’t fund itself. With significant cuts to federal funding, public media is facing a critical moment. If you believe in journalism that serves the public interest, now is the time to act. Donate today.
