Physician Mona Hanna-Attisha of MSU's College of Human Medicine and her team helped prove the children of Flint, Michigan, had been poisoned by a lead-contaminated water supply. Hanna-Attisha will deliver the commencement address at MSU’s undergraduate convocation on May 6.

The ceremony will be streamed here at wkar.org as a live webcast 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6.

Hanna-Attisha, assistant professor of pediatrics at MSU’s College of Human Medicine and director of the pediatric residency program at Hurley Children’s Hospital in Flint, will also receive an honorary doctorate of science.

Also at that ceremony, Kristina Ford, senior research fellow at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, will receive an honorary doctorate of humanities.

Bios of speakers and honorary degree recipients may be found on MSUToday.

In addition to being streamed live by WKAR-TV online here, the undergraduate convocation will also be carried live on MSU campus channel 18.1.

The convocation will be available for on-demand viewing beginning Saturday at video.wkar.org and on TV streaming devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire and Apple TV using the PBS App set to local station WKAR.

Twitter users are invited to use #MSUgrad16 to follow the ceremony.
