Rachel Portman: She was the first woman composer to win a Best Score Academy Award. This week, we sample the various scores by Rachel Portman, including The Cider House Rules, Benny & Joon and her Oscar-winning music to Emma.

Who needs humans? This week, animal magnetism shines through in films with non-human lead characters from Nigel Westlake’s sheep-pig, Babe, to Euel Box’s 1974 work for the beloved Benji.

Order in the court! We play an hour of legal proceedings from Elmer Bernstein’s classic To Kill a Mockingbird (which features a young John Williams playing piano) to kicking the tires of Randy Edelman’s My Cousin Vinny soundtrack and much more.
