MI Shakespeare festival returns with ‘As You Like It’ and more

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival slate for this season includes “As You Like It” and “Richard II,” along with an adaptation of Michael Shaara’s “The Killer Angels.” Current State’s Scott Pohl talks with producing artistic director Janice Blixt about this year’s plans.

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is back for its annual six-week run, half in Jackson and half in Canton. The first preview performance of this year’s festival is Thursday night at the Jackson College Bauman Theatre.

Current State’s Scott Pohl gets the lowdown from the Michigan Shakespeare Festival’s Producing Artistic Director, Janice Blixt.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
