A new survey indicates that tourism in Michigan could be on the upswing in 2016.

MSU forecasters say tourism in Michigan should be strong in the 2016 season after a good 2015. We break down the numbers with Associate Professors Sarah Nicolls and Dan McCole of the Dept of Community Sustainability.

A closely watched forecast of Michigan tourism suggests the industry is in for its best year in almost a decade. This year’s Michigan State University tourism outlook predicts three percent more tourists and five percent more tourism spending than in 2015, which also turned out to be a strong year.

Current State talks with the two key researchers in the MSU tourism forecast, Sarah Nicolls and Dan McCole.
