Live sound effects enhance Old Town stage performance

'Arsenic and Old Lace' was also a hit movie. Audio Air Force brings a staged version, complete with sound effects, to Lansing this week.

If you were alive in 1946, you may have heard the classic radio version of “Arsenic and Old Lace.” But if you weren’t, don’t fret. You can experience a live reenactment of it at MICA Gallery in Old Town this Friday.

Listeners of a certain age will remember that before television, radio was one of the most popular forms of entertainment in America. But that doesn’t have to be a thing of the past, thanks to Audio Air Force. They perform classic radio pieces for a live audience, and they’re putting on a free performance this Friday evening at MICA Gallery.

Current State speaks with Dave Downing, founder of Audio Air Force, and Katrina Daniels, program director of MICA Gallery in Old Town.
