One of the many things we Michiganders take pride in is our craft beer industry, which is often cited as one of the best in the country. And as this state’s craft beer scene expands and matures, women are increasingly playing a more crucial role in the tradionally male-dominated industry.
Just last month, a new trade group called Fermenta was launched that focuses on encouraging more women to get involved Michigan’s craft beer industry. Current State's Mark Bashore talks with Pauline Knighton, Fermenta's president and co-founder. She has the enviable job title of “Beer Liberator” at Shorts Brewing Company based in Bellaire, Michigan.
