RIP Ron Mason.
On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin," after a very downtrodden week for sports, another show follows that same theme as former Michigan State hockey coach and athletic director Ron Mason has passed away at the age of 76. Mason was the head coach when Michigan State won the college hockey championship in 1986, but he was so much more to the community. "Current Sports" honors his memory with archival segments of his and others voices surrounding the great coach. Meanwhile, Chris Solari, Michigan State sports reporter for the Lansing State Journal, summarizes his interactions with the coach and his associates over recent times to describe the subtle nature of Mason's death.
