Rejoice football fans; the NFL is back. On today's "Current Sports with Al Martin," hordes celebrated the downfall of Tom Brady's New England Patriots to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first NFL game of the regular season. Al goes through all of the hype, but warns fans that, after all, it's just week one. That precipitates a whole line of football conversation, the second theme being Michigan State football. The Spartans welcome the upstart Western Michigan Broncos, who narrowly lost to USC, to East Lansing for Saturday's big rivalry. Al doles out some items to watch for, and engineer Isaac Constans does the same. Yet, the two predictions leave some room for debate. Then, the mid-Michigan high school football scene is saturated with good match-ups this weekend. Zach Berridge, sports reporter and anchor for WILX, helps skim the weekend's action and explores why this weekend is so make-or-break for local teams. Finishing off the show, Al takes a call before he and Isaac finalize their thoughts about the Detroit Lions in week one.
