Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions; Buying or Selling The Hype; NFL Rankings; MSU Football; Michigan State-Michigan Rivalry Week; Otis Wiley; James Moore.

Again, a tragedy strikes in 2017. After the largest mass shooting in modern U.S. history killed more than 50 people and wounded over 500 people in Las Vegas, Al shares the sympathies of all here at "Current Sports with Al Martin" and WKAR. Proceeding to the sports of the weekend, are you buying the Detroit Lions? Al goes back and forth, but admits he was wrong with his initial prediction. Still, he urges skepticism, like with an off-brand of medicine. Engineer Isaac Constans is buying the team, for a good cost at least. Hear what he thinks is too far for the hype. The Michigan State Spartans' triumph is not forgotten, either. Al invites former MSU safety Otis Wiley onto the show, and the two dissect the MSU-Iowa football game. But although the win sent a message to the Big Ten, Spartan fans sent the team some signs of distress with the play-calling. Otis also tees up James Moore, Rose Bowl MSU fullback and host of the S.W.A.P. Meet, for a prediction on the Michigan-MSU rivalry game. James also addresses his issues with drug use earlier in his life after a Lansing State Journal article opened up the topic. Ending the show, the disgust in Isaac's voice is apparent as he names Troy, who upset his LSU Tigers, his "Weekend Winners." Al names one more team.
