After a several day wait, we finally dove into a discussion on Serena Williams' weekend. On today's episode of Current Sports with Al Martin, Al talks about the controversy surrounding the women's final of the US Open between Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka. Al also discusses Mark Knight's questionable depiction of Williams in a cartoon in the Herald Sun, a newspaper in Australia. Al also talks about International Tennis Federation umpires potentially boycotting Williams' matches. At the end of the show we play an NPR piece surrounding former NFL tight end Julius Thomas and his decision to pursue a PhD in psychology.
