The Detroit Lions start to the preseason was not optimal. On this epsiode of Current Sports with Al Martin, Al gives the "lowlights" of the Honolulu Blue's first preseason game against the New England Patriots, but stresses to the fans to not worry about the season just yet. Also, Al plays an NPR segment from Mike Pesca on why there is a "crisis of boredom" in Major League Baseball right now, and if there are no changes to speed up the game then America's favorite pasttime could be just a thing of the past. Towards the tail end of the show, engineer Alec Reo shares an inspirational story about Damon Sheehy Giuseppi and his journey into the NFL that involved pretending to know a Cleveland Browns executive.
