State school superitendent: decision on charter authorizers will be made by year end

State superintendent of public instruction Mike Flanagan has said that he will hold the authorizers of charter schools in Michigan accountable for the performance of the schools.The Detroit Free Press recently ran a series of stories outlining the troubles facing some charter schools in Michigan. Yesterday, he met with some of the authorizers.

Current State talks with Flanagan about how he intends to supervise charter schools.
