Okemos to Oxford: MSU’s 17th Rhodes Scholar

Sarah Kovan will begin her studies at Oxford University in the fall of 2016.

MSU has one of this year’s 32 Rhodes Scholars. Sarah Kovan has won several academic awards as captain of the Spartan women’s soccer team. Current State’s Scott Pohl talks with Kovan about her plans for spending two years at Oxford.

A Michigan State University student from Okemos was recently awarded a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. Along with her top-notch academic credentials, Sarah Kovan captains the MSU women’s soccer team.

The Rhodes Scholarship will allow Kovan to spend two years at Oxford, working towards a Master of Philosophy degree in developmental studies.

Current State’s Scott Pohl speaks with Kovan about how she got here, and what comes next.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
