Rock At Farm Lane Painted in Honor of 9/11

Wednesday marked 18 years since the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. In memorial of the lives lost, some Michigan State University students painted the Rock at Farm Lane. They added statements like “Never Forget” and “America Weeps 9/11” as well as placing dozens of miniature American flags around the rock. A rally around the Rock will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed when terrorist-piloted planes slammed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania.

Sept. 11 has become known also as a day of service. People around the country volunteer at food banks, schools, home-building projects, park cleanups and other community events around the anniversary.
