http://msutoday.msu.edu/

Fall on Michigan’s waterways means it’s time for the salmon to spawn. Salmon can be found in many places, including the Red Cedar River and the Grand River.Michigan has had an active salmon fishery since the 1960’s.

Current State’s Kevin Lavery talks with Dr. Howard Tanner, the man who started the program, and Mark Stephens, coordinator of a program called Project FISH for MSU’s Department of Fisheries and Wildlife.

Kevin Lavery is a general assignment reporter and occasional local host for Morning Edition and All Things considered.
