A new bridge along the Lansing River Trail east of Potter Park Zoo was unveiled on Tuesday. The galvanized steel bridge has replaced two older bridges in the same area and brought the trail higher above the flood level.

The new bridge along the Lansing River Trail east of Potter Park Zoo opened in August 2019.

It is one of 12 bridges that were identified to be replaced after the Ingham County Parks and Trails Millage was passed in 2015.

Among those in attendance were Lansing Mayor Andy Schor, who spoke about the millage and what the city has done with it to improve Lansing parks and trails infrastructure. He also discussed how they plan on utilizing these millage funds in the future.

Out of the first round of repairs, there was 13 miles of the river trail and 21 bridges that were repaired or replaced as a result of the millage funding.
